Aqua S, Sydney
The interior was derived from the colours of the Aqua S’s iconic blue sea salt ice cream and chocolate brown wafer cone. Similar to other Aqua S stores, curves have been incorporated into this scheme to retain a consistent brand identity as well as to create a playful and fun ambiance for all ages.
The shopfront uses laser cut plywood panels fixed to the ceiling to bring in layers of curves into the space. This feature is a reinterpretation of the iconic clouds in an architectural way.
The most challenging part of this design is the ceiling features, which took a few trial and errors to achieve the right shape that worked well with the shape of the site structure.
Belinda: ‘Something new that was learnt about was the concept of repetition. Combination of the same shape and adding colours here and there, to make it all look different.’
