Dust Bakery

Location: Tramshed Harold Park

Date of Completion: September 2016

Project type: Interior Design/Documentation/Concept Design

The idea of Dust Bakery is to create an open space which celebrates the art of bread making and showcasing the final product. The design aims to express a refined and elegant design and the choice of materials reflect the store’s philosophy on authentic ingredients. Timeless materials such as travertine, sandstone and timber are chosen for their earthy tones and simplicity.

One integral part of Dust is the on-site stone mill on show to its customers. Being one of the first in Sydney, the mill was handmade in Australia with the bakery in mind where the owner and his team would grind any flour used themselves on site. Small details within the space such as the laser cut wheat pattern in the timber acoustic panel further emphasise the grain to bread procedure.
